Memory Lane Monday: Confess by Colleen Hoover

Memory Lane Monday was created by Caitlin from YA Bookworm. All you need to do is pick a book you haven't reviewed on the blog that you've read a while back and answer 5 questions.

Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…

Question # 1: You've got 5 WORDS! Describe the book.
Art heals the broken ones.
Question # 2: Pick a quote, any quote!
“There are people you meet that you get to know, and then there are people you meet that you already know.”
Question # 3: Hit, Miss, or Meh?
Meh. When I first read this book I was head over heels in love with it, but the more I think about the story, the more I realize that the hype probably glorified the book when I was first read it. I still think it's a really great novel, but I'm not as in love with it now.
Question # 4: Best or Worst Quality?
The art!! I loved the beautiful pieces of art that were scattered throughout the novel. It brought Owen's paintings to life and I loved seeing how he (the artist) interpreted the confessions.
Question # 5: Most Memorable Character.
When I first finished the book, I think I would have gone with Amber, but now...I'm not entirely sure.

So that's my little trip down memory lane with Confess! Confess was the first Colleen Hoover book I read so I was on a bit of a high afterwards. Looking back, now that I've read a couple of her other books, Confess was enjoyable but not my favorite.

Foreverly Obsessed,
